Checked the clay pits this morning for any mystery ducks and was quite surprised to find a first winter Grey Wagtail sat on the log in the middle of the ‘main pit’ (the puddle in the bottom picture I posted yesterday).
Would have been photographable if I had my camera…which I didn’t.
After a short period of it sitting motionless and my starting to wonder if it was an elaborate hoax, it started to do wagtail-like stuff. I did a little happy dance.
Species 83 for the patch and 62nd this year :-)
