25 years and it's happened

The day a birder feels even a slight rush of excitement at seeing a Canada Goose is perhaps a cue to pack the bins away and take up.....well, anything else really.  Still, that's what happened to me this morning, as two of the honkers flew over as I walked to work.  A patch year tick!

One derives all sorts of different pleasures when birding in a more parochial mindset.  I now look forward to ticking off Reed Bunting, Cormorant, etc.
